BEAUTIFUL DAY

HELP US SPREAD SOME BONNY DOON LOVE!

>> WHAT IS IT?? <<

Bonny Doon Church is organizing a volunteer day April 20th to help several families in Bonny Doon who lost their homes in the CZU Lightening Complex fires. The recipients are under-insured, widows, single parents, battling health challenges or have additional factors in addition to the total loss of their homes.

We are immensely grateful to Westgate Church of Beautiful Day, Vintage Faith, Twin Lakes and Santa Cruz Convergence for their help recruiting volunteers for this epic workday.

This year’s workday will be very similar to last year’s work day. You can learn more by watching the 2 minute video we put together for last year’s workday.

>> WAYS TO HELP <<

We want to keep the ball rolling. Will you help us plan more workdays?

>> VOLUNTEER TIME <<

Volunteers will check-in and sign waivers at Bonny Doon Church from 8-8:30am giving volunteers time to grab a light breakfast at church and drive to the worksite by 9am. People will receive a map to the site location where they will be volunteering when they check-in.

Volunteer opportunities include assisting at check in, helping organize, a lot of yard work including chainsaw & tractor work.

>> DONATE MONEY <<

Funding to finance removing trees from properties and host this event has come from the funds Bonny Doon Church raised for fire survivors through their local craft fair and through personal donations.

We need your support to continue reaching out and helping fire survivors in this way. Will hope you consider making a financial contribution to help us continue helping our neighbors recover?

>> NEED OR know someone in need? <<

If you are NOT one of the families receiving assistance on Beautiful Day but would need help, please fill out this form and one of our team of volunteers serving fire survivors will reach out to you.

Bonny Doon Church has been actively assisting CZU fire survivors from the point that we were allowed to repopulate after the fires. We worked with FEMA to bring Red Cross and other agencies to Bonny Doon coordinating with our local elementary school. We have been regularly attending the Santa Cruz Long Term Recovery meetings to share information with our neighbors.
